Passtrak athletes honoured

   thletics Alberta is the governing body for track & field in the Province of Alberta.

   On Saturday January 19th they hosted the 2007 provincial awards banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of their athletes from the 2007 outdoor track & field season.

   The banquet was held at the Fantasyland Hotel in West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton with CTV’s sports anchor Adam Cook as the Master of Ceremony.

   Six Passtrak athletes were recognized along with other athletes from across the province including members of Canada’s Olympic and World Championships teams.

   Mason Hendricks received two awards for her efforts over the past season. She was ranked number three in Alberta in the Peewee Girls Speed Triathlon and ranked number two in the Peewee Girls Strength Triathlon.

   Rachelle Servatius achieved two Provincial rankings as well. She was ranked fourth in the Bantam Girls Speed Tetrathlon as well as the Bantam Girls Jumps Tetrathlon.

   Joshua Schuh was the third ranked athlete in the Peewee Boys Stamina Triathlon while Pieter Botha was ranked fourth in the Province in the same event.

   Adam Szawlowski finished the 2007 outdoor season as the first ranked Bantam Boys athlete in Alberta in the Jumps Tetrathlon.

   Not to be outdone, Andries Botha also grabbed a first ranking in the province in the Bantam Boys Throws Tetrathlon.
