Unhappy with new cleanup regulations

Dear Editor:

I’m back! I have been out of commission for some time and am now trying to catch up on what our local papers have to report regarding what is going on in the Pass.

This letter is about the “new process for clean-up”, which I don’t totally agree with.

People seem to have forgotten that the 2006 Spring Clean-up was exceptionally long and heavy because of the back log of branches from the ice storm we had in the fall of 2005. I don’t think we should compare that tragedy to other years.

I agree that heavy items should be picked up separately, with a minimal charge set up one day a month for this separate service. But household garbage?

What about grass clippings, garden weeds, are we supposed to use them for salads? What are we supposed to do with the thousands of pampers and other sanitary products that accumulate in even one week.

Come on guys - use your heads. What are we paying garbage and recycling fees for?
