The need for upgrades at M.D. McEachern

Dear Editor:

The following is an open letter to Mayor and Council.

The CNP Quad Squad will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this year and once again we have the MDM School booked for Oct 17 and 18, 2008. We have one main concern regarding the MDM School and our special event, the acoustics!!

Since 2005, the CNP Quad Squad has been using the MDM School as a venue for our annual Wind Up Dinner and Dance. It is a marvelous facility, large enough to accommodate our members and guests. The new kitchen and bar are very much appreciated and are welcomed additions.

The only issue now to address is the poor acoustics in the auditorium.

Every year we tried different PA systems, hoping to improve on the acoustics, but to no avail, as our audience still cannot discern what is being said. There is nothing more annoying than not being able to hear what the MC is saying! A great deal of time and effort is put into speeches, what a waste of time, when no one can understand what is being said, At this point the CNP Quad Squad feels that something has to be done to improve the acoustics, so that all group users will be satisfied using the venue.

It is our hope that during the 2008 budget process you find the necessary money to remedy the acoustics problem at the MDM School.
