Editorial

Pass honours veterans

Well folks I'm sorry but this week I'm going to attempt to write an Editorial for Buddy as he is in the hospital suffering from a severe bout of pneumonia.

Our Composing Manager and Assistant Editor, is also in the hospital recovering from an appendectomy, so guess what I am very fortunate to have Betty Walmsley, who basically is in the Advertising position, her grandson, Mike, who is taking his mother, Ardyth Chambers’ position in the Composing Department, my husband, Willy, who has  taken over the delivery of the Pass Herald, and of course our ever dependable reporter, Nathen Gallagher, working this week.

If I am kind of rusty please forgive me, as I have been very sick for the past 3 years and have depended upon Lisa and Buddy, along with Ardyth, Betty, Nathen and Willy filling in for me. I guess God works in mysterious ways, because here I am becoming stress free, and putting myself first instead of everyone else, thanks to Dr. Garbutt and Dr. Sarah-Dash Arbuckle. They have both enabled me to come back to work when I needed to. Now is the time to find out just how far I can push myself and as of today I feel the limits are boundless. Cigarettes? Well that's another story to be told at another time.

We, at the Pass Herald, wish Buddy and Lisa both a speedy recovery - they are both needed at the office. In the Webster's dictionary an Editor is 'a person who writes editorial' and you can see why Bud is the Editor and I'm the Publisher.

Actually over the years I have been Jack of all Trades and Master of None, I've been a money pit and I could go on and on but as I said about the cigarettes - that's another story for another time.

Get Well Lisa and Buddy, you are both needed at the Herald. And Bud, rather than worry about the Pass Herald, take the much-needed rest you deserve. Don't even think of trying to run the Herald from your hospital bed or from your home. I am here and even though I haven't been much help the past two years, I think I can still do the job.

   You just get well.
